2025 has seemingly seen Jimmy raise his profile, stateside, but 2016 had already seen him perform a number of US gigs, on his Funny Business tour.
He’d already been to New Zealand and Australia in January and February took in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden. March was Iceland, Sweden (again) and Denmark (again).
March 18th saw Netflix release his Funny Business special (a first for a British comedian).
March 2016
As mentioned in this post March 17th he’d been in New York filming for The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. He had to go back to Europe to do a gig in Europe (Zurich, Switzerland) on the 19th.
According to the radio interview (below) he was in The Comedy Cellar on the 21st.
On the morning of the 22nd he was in New York for an interview on SiriusXM with Opie and Jim Norton (with Mark Normand also as a guest). Details here.
On the 24th he had a gig on the 24th at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre and then it was on to New York’s The Gramercy Theatre for 2 shows on the 25th and one on the 26th.
April 2016
Jimmy was back in Europe (from April 1st) for Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria and then it was off to South Africa for gigs in Cape Town (8th) and Johannesburg (9th).
And then another slog back to Europe for gigs in St Julian’s in Malta on the 15th and 16th.
Brooklyn Vegan did a write up of his March / April touring commitments – including his gig at LA’s Largo on the 20th.
April 21st was San Diego’s Balboa Theatre for Judd Apatow and friends. Jimmy and Demetri Martin performed.
I can’t remember whether Jimmy or Judd (or both) posted this pic of them travelling together.

22nd and 23rd was the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas (see more here) and Jimmy did 2 nights at Stateside at the Paramount. Mark Normand and Jim Norton had mentioned on the SiriusXm show (above) that they would be at this festival too.
24th and 25th was gigs at Cobb’s Comedy Club, San Francisco. 26th @midnight filming and 27th Late Late Show.
30th April and into May was Canada for a week.
May/June/July 2016
Leaving Canada on the 7th it was on to Lithuania (12th), Finland, Estonia, England, Norway, Latvia and then England / Netherlands took us to the 31st.
June saw Finland / Belgium and then England through to July 19th before Just For Laughs, Canada, on the 20th.
August 2016
August was England, Wales and Scotland up to the 22nd and then we have him dashing all over town.
On the 23rd LA’s Comedy Store tweeted out to thank him for dropping into the Main Room.

On the 24th Hollywood Improv thanked him for being a “total crusher” on Comedy Juice.

He then appeared at The Comedy Store (Original Room) as a Pop In on the bill with (amongst others):
- Marc Maron
- Bobby Lee
- Chris D’Elia
- Anthony Jeselnik
- Judd Apatow
- Jeff Ross
- Andrew Santino
I can’t tell which night this was as the tweet from The Comedy Store was dated 25th but attached the line up for the 24th. Could have been both, to be fair.

Daytime on the 26th he was at LA’s Culver City recording a Netflix show – Chelsea (with Chelsea Handler).
26th he was at The Comedy Store again – with Tony Hinchcliffe and others.

And on the 27th he was in the Original Room (The Comedy Store) once again. But only after he’d nipped over to Sony Pictures, Culver City, to perform on The Roast Of Rob Lowe.

Rest of The Year
That was the end of his 2016 USA shows and it was then back for a gig in Guildford, England on the 30th.
The rest of the year then went Wales, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, England, Germany, England, Netherlands, England, Wales, England, Netherlands, Wales, Northern Ireland, England, Poland and then (finally) England up until December 17th.
I’m worn out just typing this…no idea how he keeps up the pace.
