September 9th 2017 Comedy Central hosted an Emmy after party at Boulevard3 in Los Angeles.

Jimmy was in LA from September 6-12. He appeared on Kill Tony on the 11th (here) and was at the DEF Comedy Jam 25 record on the 10th (here).

In 2017 Kent Alterman was the comedy Central President and Jimmy had interviewed him at The Edinburgh TV Festival (here) in August.
For someone in Jimmy’s position this would be more than just (presumably) free drinks and hanging with other famous people. This is about networking with people in both the comedy and TV industry and also, in 2017, he was making a fair bit of TV for the channel (Drunk History, YFOM etc – see here). Which is why I’ve added the “career history” tag.
