Jimmy’s 6th appearance on Kill Tony (details here) was released on July 28th – thought I’d have a look at how it’s doing.
The comments underneath the video are really enthusiastic about both how funny Jimmy’s performance was and how helpful his advice always is.
One of the best bits (for me) was Yehee (see here) a REALLY funny lady (with CP) who was offered a seat, by Jimmy, and ended up joining the panel. The comics are next-door, in Shakespeare’s bar, and Yehee had to be carried in (here). Her Insta bio photo is now one of her and Jimmy.
BTW – if you watch this in isolation, don’t judge the look on Jimmy’s face at the start. He looked like that (quite stern) with each act because he concentrates on the jokes / presentation skills to give proper feedback. Although he pulls a lot of other faces too and laughed a fair bit.
If you’ve not watched KT before – it’s basically a televised “new act night”, the sort that Jimmy used to sign up for back in 1999-2000 (see here).
I imagine that, having been one of those new acts, he remembers exactly what it’s like. Some of the try-outs were visibly shaking with nerves – especially when they saw who the guest panellist was this week.
Recorded on July 13th 2026 The Comedy Mothership (Joe Rogan’s club, in Texas, where it was recorded) have posted some nice images, on their Instagram, of both backstage and on the set – here.
I’ve just checked out the viewing figures on Jimmy’s 5 appearances, so these numbers are as of about 2pm today (29th).
The early shows have relatively low numbers because, back then, the “podcast” wasn’t so well known and they used to publish on the Death Squad website.
Now KT has grown so much that next month (August 7th and 8th) they are performing at Madison Square Garden, NYC.
It’s been about 36 hours since #778 was uploaded and it’s already had 1.6m views.
Although the overall total, for the 6 episodes, is just under 10m the 2025 appearances had lots of shorts and “every funny moment” published (not all of them official) and they total over 20m.
