Still no news on the Top Gear hosting role (here) but a story here says The Stig will return, which seems to just be an excuse to re-run the “don’t know yet” story.

Meanwhile. Jimmy’s tease post, on August 24^th (here), has been followed up with a montage of the Extras from his 2005 DVD Stand Up (here).

So, the video, below, is partly his November 2004 Top Gear interview (with Jeremy Clarkson) the episode in which he topped the leader board as a “star in a reasonably priced car”.

He’s talking about his old car (a Rover 75) and how, as a jobbing comedian on the club circuit (see Pubs and Clubs here) he used to do 30,000 miles a year.

It’s interspersed with footage from Comedy Idol, which is joyful, not because of the acts, but because Jimmy keeps getting the giggles and ends up crying with laughter. Sitting on his right is Iain Morris and on his left is Karen Taylor.

More than 100 comedians took part in the competition and it looks like it was won by Gerry Kyei. I can’t find a story about this but there is a clip of him performing at The Comedy Store, London (the prize). Loved his “crack baby” joke.

You can see why Jimmy loves Kill Tony – he has been trying to help out new comics since 2005.
