As with the post relating to 1998-2001 – this is not his complete gig listing, for the year. I’m just pulling out some interesting venues and line ups, to give you an idea of what type of venue Jimmy was playing, the upward trajectory of his career and which comedians were on the circuit with him.

January

In the “pubs and clubs” previous post Mr Carr had worked New Year’s Eve 2001. The following week (5^th Jan 2002) he was performing again at Up The Creek Too in South Croydon (see here).

February

On 15^th February 2002 Jimmy is at The Comedy Cellar in Ringmead, which is more like a stately home. A lot more up-market than the usual circuit venues. See here.

March

23^rd March 2002 he’s spending his Saturday night with the Up The Creek lot in Croydon. The night before Chris Addison had been there.

May

Friday 10^th May 2002 was Ealing Studios, Ealing Green (presented by Ha Bloody Ha Ealing). See details here.

May 30 was his first appearance at the Kilkenny Cat Laugh Festival in Ireland, where he first met Sean Lock. See here.

July

The Montreal, Canada, Just for Laughs festival was from 11^th to 21^st July 2002 and Jimmy attended for the 1^st time. See here.

August

August was Edinburgh Fringe time (with Bare Faced Ambition – his first solo show).

September

September was notable for his success at the Peter Cook Tribute Night.

October

October 13^th and Jimmy got to perform his fledgling Bare Face Ambition show in London’s West End (His Majesty’s Theatre). More here.

For additional context – his first US TV appearances (on Late Night With Conan O’Brien) were in October and December.

December

To wrap up a successful year, December 2002 Jimmy was on his first Royal Variety Show and 16^th to 21^st saw him at the Soho Theatre, London (Bare Faced Ambition tour).
