As with the previous post (for Facebook) – here.
The same 29 comedians and the top 3 are again Gold (UK) and Blue (US).
Instagram Followers
This first screenshot shows everyone with over 2 m followers and then the variance (growth) is discussed below.
As noted in previous stats reports – the Brit comedians can’t get anywhere near to the Americans, who have a much bigger population to start out from. Huge numbers for Kevin Hart.

Where it gets more interesting is looking at the variance between October 20th 2025 and December 31st. Jimmy is out in front and, although his accounts have all had an upward trend in the last 12-18 months, this appears to be a bounce from his increased US presence in 2025.
Just in the last 2 weeks of December he gained 67,331 followers. As 2026 is mostly about Aus / NZ and Canada tours (with no US dates, at the moment) lets see what happens with the trend.
Ricky Gervais has 2,882 posts (here) and, apart from recent clips from his Mortality special, the majority are relating to his older TV work, his cat, his Vodka brand or personal video messages. Filming in the bath seems to be a favourite!
Michael McIntyre was on his Magnificent tour, in 2025. Looking at his Instagram account (here) he has 100 posts and ALL of them are in 2025. He’d started the year with only 11,700 followers and so has picked up almost 800k in 12 months. Seems like he (or his team) has decided to branch out from focussing mainly on Facebook (where he has 6.5m followers). 2026 sees his first ever US gigs so this may demonstrate how much touring the States impacts a comedian’s follower count.
The difference in approach, between the accounts of these 3 brits, is that Jimmy has mostly clips from his tour (Heckle Amnesty), with promo clips for his TV shows dotted around (and, recently, Fackham Hall). This means, of the 3 of them, he is “giving away” a lot more new stand up content. See here if you want to compare.
Final observation – Jack Whitehall is 987 followers ahead in the above table. As you can see from the below – his account has only grown by 2,401 so I would expect that he will be pushed down the “league”, the next time that I look at these numbers.
